What is draining my phone battery?

If you ever look down and wonder why your phone seems to lose juice even when you’re barely looking at it, you’re not alone. There are a few usual suspects behind it, and we’ve gathered them for you.

Apps running in the background are a big one. Even when you are not using them, some apps keep checking for updates or sending notifications, which eats power. Bright screens are another classic culprit. The brighter your screen, the faster your battery empties. Connectivity also matters. If your phone is constantly hunting for Wi-Fi or mobile signal, that uses energy. GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, and location services can drain the battery too, especially if they are switched on all the time.

Other factors include old batteries or lots of apps installed. A battery will naturally lose capacity over time, and having many apps can mean more background activity and higher power usage. There are some simple ways to keep your battery going longer: dimming the screen, turning off unused connections, closing apps you are not using, and updating apps and your phone software all help. If your phone is a bit older, consider a replacement battery or a newer phone with better battery life.

Some of the phones in our collection have excellent battery performance, which is handy if you are out and about all day and do not want to carry a charger everywhere. Understanding what drains your battery makes it easier to get through the day without your phone begging you to stick it in. The charger. To plug the charger in. Sorry, just had a scene from Jexi flash before my eyes. The film came out in 2019 and I still can’t unsee it.

Never mind. Keep your battery healthy.
